The IT/ICT industry/profession needs your help. Since 2000, the number of women in IT/ICT has been on a steady decline – down to 21% in September 2012, from 23.7% in June 2011 and from 25.3% in March 2000 (Statistics Canada, Labour Force Surveys).
In the Publisher's Address, I explain: Having taught math to this age group and given my business history in publishing, marketing/branding and design, I felt I had a solution, on how to change the negative perception, how to educate not only the girls, but all the students, the educators and the parents, and how to provide a teaching document for guidance counsellors. This interactive, multimedia PDF e-magazine is my answer. I hope you like it and use it.

Instructions to help create your webpage – e-magazine and Adobe Reader
- On your webpage, copy and place this image, so the viewer will know what to expect.
- Explain that the interactive, multimedia PDF e-magazine is a large file (150 Megs), so it will take time to open.
- You can click the image to open the e-magazine, as I have, but I would also give them a direct link to the PDF, as I have.

To ensure no one has a problem viewing the embedded videos in the PDF
- Point out that they must use Adobe Reader even on a MAC
- Provide a link to the newest version on your webpage
- Copy and paste the logo from here or go to the Adobe webpage
- Point out they need to view it on a computer/laptop.
- Let them know that the new devices (tablets, iPads, playbooks, smartphones...) are not compatible with one another and at this time there is no Reader that will work on all of them. You may see the content, but not the videos and the hyperlinks will also not work.
